Following Jesus is not about going to church on Sunday mornings or saying ‘I’m a Christian’,
It is about carrying your cross, dying to your flesh and walking by the Spirit dally.
It is about choosing to be quiet when you are spoken to in a rude manner, it is about walking in the fear of the Lord, it is about submitting to your husband even if you think he doesn’t deserve it. it is about representing the Lord at your place of work. It is about walking in righteousness when no one is there.
” For God called you to do good, even if it means suffering, just as Christ suffered for you. He is your example, and you must follow in his steps. He never sinned,
nor ever deceived anyone. He did not retaliate when he was insulted,
nor threaten revenge when he suffered.
He left his case in the hands of God,
who always judges fairly ” – 1 Peter 2:21-23(NLT)
It is not just enough to say ‘I’m born again, thank God I am going to heaven”. You must daily renew that commitment to follow. Are you carrying your cross and following Him daily?
We’ve heard alot about guarding our hearts but how about we start guarding our lives too.
Your relationship with Jesus is your life and if you do not have a relationship with Jesus, you do not know what you are missing. (Run to Jesus fast)
Many people trivialize their lives because they do not understand what it means to be a member of the kingdom.
By trivialize, I mean being a Christian when it is convenient and not being one when it is not convenient. I mean not allowing the life of God permeate all aspects of your life or putting one leg in the kingdom and one leg out because you want to seem intelligent. It can also mean not aligning our selves and values to His.
But Jesus told him, “Anyone who puts a hand to the plow and then looks back is not fit for the Kingdom of God: Luke 9 :62
Do you know the beast you will become if you look back? Fully give yourself and guard your life because this world is simply ‘death wearing a mask’. It will eventually kill its citizens. Thank God for the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is our life(Colossians 3:4). The enemy is not playing with you, Stop playing with your own life.
Like Gold, look For Him, You are nothing without Him, Desperately look for Him
Hopeless is what we are without Him, Look for Him You will find yourself in Him, Look for Him
In Him is love, start searching for Him He loves you more than you will ever know, Look for Him
Look for Him because…… Clueless is what describes an individual without Him, Won’t you look for the One who can fix you?
In Him you are chosen, In Him you have nothing to prove, In Him you become beautiful, Look for Him
You cannot have enough of Him You are not too bad for Him to change You are protected in Him, Look for Him
Start looking before it gets too late, Tomorrow might be just that…too late. So what are you waiting for? LOOK!
(New King James Version)
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
So yesterday, we talked about how some siblings experience depression, anxiety and other emotional or mental issues. When it is the will of God for us to abound or be overflowing with HOPE. As you depend on the Holy Spirit to have joy and peace in trusting God, you will always have hope for the future but the enemy in his character tries to steal that away from us in order to keep us from fulfilling our Father’s will on the earth
In my experience with anxiety, it started from my thoughts. This is why we must guard our thoughts like a soldier guards money. Your thoughts are where your life starts from (Proverbs 4:23). If you think depressing thoughts, you will be depressed, if you think hopeless thoughts you will feel hopeless and lose your joy and peace. You might not be possesed, you might just need to change your thoughts.
In my case, I had a baby and started letting thoughts of guilt and condemnation from the times I strayed hunt me. My thoughts just kept going down the hill. This led to anxiety that I could even feel in my body. Some people will say it is postpartum problems but where is it in the Bible? Dear child of God, those things are activities of demons and we keep suger coating them with nice English words. If it is not part of God’s promise to us, it shouldn’t be happening.
Anyway, the enemy was having a field day with my mind and I did not even realize it. When God opened my eyes to see what was happening, I cried out to Him. He has since led me on a journey of examining my thoughts, teaching my hands to war and my fingers to battle. I haven’t had another episode of anxiety or issue with mental health.
When it seems like the enemy wants to try again, I speak the Word in prayer. The Holy Spirit our helper is also always on standby to strengthen and encourage. The Holy Spirit and the Word of God work. Oh what joy and peace we would have if only we believed that God’s word powered by His Spirit works.
It is in joy and peace that we will find hope. These spiritual blessings cannot be found outside Jesus. Are you struggling in any area of your life today? Look to Jesus my friend. He is the only answer to that matter.
Read your Bible, depend on the Holy Spirit and pray. Let the word get into your heart. May we not enter into life’s battle without our weapons of warfare in Jesus name. Amen.
You are loved.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 15:13 KJV
They say when there is life there is hope. Life is a person and His name is Jesus. So if you do not have Jesus, you do not have Life, therefore you do not have hope.
Merely existing is not life. Life begins when you enter Jesus. He is also the door. You are dead if you don’t have a relationship with Jesus and you will die again if you exit this planet without that relationship with Him.
You might be a good religious person but without Jesus.. There is no hope. There might be ‘hope’ for a better life tomorrow on this planet but do you know if you will die tomorrow?
It would be such a shame if you found out that you wasted your life after death. He is real. Jesus is our hope. Depression is not your boss, suicide is not your boss. If you have Jesus, you have hope.
So how come lots of siblings (believers in Christ) feel anxious, depressed and hopeless? I was there. I struggled with anxiety. I will tell you my story tomorrow.
Jesus loves you.
There is a reason why the Lord is called the God of comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 : “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us”.
No one comforts bests like our Father, He knows us so well and many times even more than we know ourselves.
He allows us to go through experiences so that in them we can learn about Him, His ways and eventually be His instruments. I once heard someone say that when you are in trouble, there are only two ways to run ; to the Lord and away from Him.
Therefore are you in need of comfort today? Call on the God of comfort. He comforts us through what works bests for us.
For example, many times He can use people, scripture, remind you of an experience, prophecy or what works best for you. The bottom line is that you can be comforted by God. He is the God of comfort and He loves you completely. Call on Him today.
In a world where trends matter and people work hard to fit in, are you standing? Can you stand?
Jesus did not call us to fit in. Jesus calls us light, light shines brightly without even trying. Will you stand out?
It’s a war, where the enemy’s tactic is basically deceit in order to steal, kill and destroy. Stand in prayers my friend.
The world and The Word will never meet and that is okay. Be comfortable knowing that you will not always be liked. Stand my sibling.
In our kingdom we don’t follow trends, we follow Jesus and His Spirit. The Bible is our manual, our guide and our weapon. Stand, stand and stand Soldier!
Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love-Revelation 2 :4
Mark 4 :18 – 19
Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Do you realize that every thing in your life should be built around your relationship with GOD? Instead of structuring our lives around God, many of us structure our lives and try to make Him fit. The scriptures say that Jesus who is God, is our life (Colossians 3:4). Which means we are literally dead without Him. Today, I want to encourage us to return back to the things we used to do when we first encountered Jesus. If you can’t find the time in the day to seek Him, wake up at night. Don’t let the cares of this world (which are usually legit), take you out of your relationship with Jesus. Jesus misses you so much and He wants to be your first love as He was before the ministry, family, work or children.
Additionally, the season we are currently living in calls for us to return back to our lover with all fervency and seek Him because it is as we diligently seek Him, we will find Him(Hebrews 11:6). When we find Him, we will then be able to shine so brightly and reveal Him in this dark season. As darkness is rising so must we as light. However, this can only happen when we make the Lord Jesus our number aim, goal and desire.
If you haven’t fallen from ‘how it used to be’, then I want to encourage you to challenge your self. Challenge yourself! If you’ve been spending one hour with Him daily for some time, add an extra 30 minutes. Challenge yourself in your walk with Him and don’t stop growing.
Let nothing take His place, let Jesus be your love, let Him be your future, let Him be your destiny, let Him be your all.
God loves you plenty
