Congratulations: You are a Candidate

Recently, I have been learning that God truly uses normal people to achieve His purposes. The individuals that most people would write off as “useless”, “No future Ambition”, and those people are the ones that God uses.

Moses:

Moses was murderer and if he lived in this generation, he would probably be sentenced to life imprisonment or would have been killed. That same Moses, God gave a new identity and a significant role in His plan. (Exodus 2-3)

Rehab:

Rehab was a prostitute (Joshua 2). Maybe she would have been a Cam-girl, Porn star or a Sugar baby if she lived in this generation. However, that former prostitute became a great grandmother of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:5). Imagine all the people that would have doubted her when God decided to turn her life around.

See, it is not of Him that wills or run. It is the Lord that shows mercy (Romans 9:16). All this talk about Kanye West, has God not done it before? Kanye is in fact the perfect candidate to be used by God since God qualifies the Called. Time fails me to talk about the story of Saul to Paul. Please read it in the book of Acts. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO BE LOVED BY GOD. Just give Him your life and watch Him transform it to something beautiful.

It doesn’t matter if you sold drugs, were involved in immoral and perverse acts. As long as you acknowledge, receive Jesus Christ into your life as God and give yourself to Him completely you are a candidate.  You are not too bad, you are not too broken. You are the perfect candidate. God is looking for normal, regular people. He is looking for you.

My Story:

When God called me in 2014, I could hardly believe it since I am not special or holy. In fact many times in the first two and a half years of University, I didn’t go to church (yikes my pastor parents will see this) or think too much about God. I did some of the things, teens would usually do.  I had a five year plan and somehow wanted to join Nigerian politics and be the first female president. I am not super smart, you could say I am regular. I couldn’t understand why the God of the universe would choose to use this broken, battered girl. However, God is merciful and it is not about what you do or do not do. It is about His goodness. Today, I am here and I am actively working on my salvation. The difference between the years before 2014 and now, is the fact that I know I am loved by my Father, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ and one day I will tell my story in greater detail J

If you are scared to surrender, just know that you are not that bad. You are a candidate to bring greatness and hope to the world. You too can be used by God.

You are loved.
